The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS), Week officially commenced in Akuapem North with a vibrant opening ceremony that featured thrilling inter-schools sports competitions.
This, was one of the key activities lined up to celebrate and promote private schools education across Ghana.
The week-long celebration, organized by GNACOPS, is focused on highlighting the role and impact of private schools education in national development.
This year’s event features a series of impactful programs including policy dialogues, capacity-building workshops, and student-focused initiatives all aimed at strengthening private schools education in Ghana.
At the launch of the sports competitions, Abu Moro Morrison, Operations Director of GNACOPS, stressed the importance of using sports to complement academic development and enhance the visibility of private schools education.
“Sports is a powerful development tool. GNACOPS is committed to creating platforms where students in private schools can shine, not just academically, but also through their athletic abilities,” he said.
CEO of Kaysports Kwame Ameyaw, official partner for the sporting segment, expressed his excitement about the collaboration.
“We at Kaysports are excited to partner GNACOPS on this journey. There’s so much untapped talent in private schools, and together, we’ll help these students reach their potential,” he stated.
Francias Ato Acquah, Chairman of GNACOPS in Akuapem North, emphasized the importance of private school involvement in competitive sports.
“Private schools must be seen and heard in the sporting arena. It builds pride, strengthens community bonds, and gives our students the chance to compete and be recognized,” he noted.
The opening ceremony featured a school parade and officially kicked off the sports competitions, including football, athletics, and other contests.
