Ghana won its first gold medal at the maiden African School Games in Algeria, thanks to a stellar performance in badminton.
The historic victory came in the girls’ doubles final, where Adu Moslena Ama Korama and Quarcoo Racheal defeated Nigeria’s Adekunle Feranmi Cynthia and Adekunle Oluwagbotemi Precious in an intense showdown.
The win not only crowns the Ghanaian duo as continental champions but also marks a significant achievement for the entire delegation as Ghana’s first gold medal at the competition.
This triumph takes Ghana’s total medal tally to five, underlining the country’s growing strength across multiple sporting disciplines at the ongoing Games.
With several events still to come, Team Ghana will be aiming to build on this momentum and add more medals to its haul as the African School Games continue.
