Prempeh College Successfully Defends Boy’s Title In Ashanti Region Schools Super Zonals Athletics Competition

One of Ghana’s most esteemed secondary educational institutions, Prempeh College has successfully retained their title in the 2025 Ashanti Region Schools and Colleges Sports Federation Athletics Super Zonals competition.

They triumphed in the Boys’ competition after excelling at the highly competitive event held at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.

The champions, Prempeh College, overcame intense competition from other schools to secure victory for a second consecutive year.

At the conclusion of the two-day event that wrapped up on Friday, Prempeh College gathered 125 points to claim the championship, reaffirming their elite status in school sports in the Ashanti region.

In second place after the two-day event was Opoku Ware School, which finished with 100 points. T.I. Amass of Kumasi came in third with 94 points, followed by Osei Kyeretwie SHS in fourth with 77 points in the hotly contested tournament.

Overall, 30 schools participated in the boys’ category, with athletes displaying their talents for brighter futures.

Jachie Pramso, (35 points), Anglican SHS, Kumasi, (33 points), Islamic SHS, (28 points), and Armed Forces SecTech, (25 points), secured fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth positions respectively.

Obuasi SecTech, 25 points, Mpasatia SHTS, 23 points, and Antoa SHS, 21 points, along with Okomfo Anokye SHS and Toase SHS, finished with 16 points. Other schools that competed included Osei Tutu SHS, Akropong, Tepa SHS, Kumasi High School, Tweneboah-Kodua SHS, Aduman SHS, Barekese SHS, Effiduase Commercial, and St Hubert Seminary, among others.
